SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

JANUARY 26, 2007

Leair called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Present were Supervisors Schmittinger, Morris and Reid; Supervisor Carlson was absent. Also present was Administrator/Planner Herrmann and Cleaark Whitmore.

Discussion/action – 2007 Building Inspector Contract

Leair explained there was some concern about the hours proposed by Gary Poetzl at the January meeting, he had proposed Tuesdays and Thursday from 8 to 9:30 am. The Board had asked he come back with a different proposal in February. She then contacted Bob Blankenheim who is the owner of Lake County Inspections for a proposal. He is the Inspector for the Town of Erin and the Village of Lannon, she and Jeff met with him several times. They also met with members from Maney-Miller/Wisconsin Building Inspectors and found out Poetzl did not represent the hours agreed upon at Wisconsin Building Inspectors.

The proposed contracts from both companies are basically identical. Monday, Wednesday and Friday hours from 10:30 to noon and anytime we need them, they are both available by cell phone. The split is the same, 75/25, with the same service in each proposal.

Bob Blankenheim of Lake County Inspections and Vince Budiac and Scott Johnson of Wisconsin Building Inspections were present to answer questions by Board members.

Schmittinger made motion that for 2007 we award the contract to Lake County Inspections, and suggested that we review this and give close consideration to this at budget time. Morris seconded.

Herrmann asked if this is approved what happened in the interim? It was agreed Wisconsin Building Inspections would complete what they have started and Lake Country will start the new permits.

Leair thanked both companies for their proposals.

Motion carried unanimously.

Schmittinger made motion to adjourn, Reid seconded, motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:28 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Barbara A. Whitmore
