Legal Notices

All legal notices are published in the Kettle Moraine Index (262) 367-3272; and posted at the Genesee Town Hall, Genesee Depot, Ebert’s Genesee Market, Hwy 83 & 59, Genesee and at Kwik Trip, Hwy 18 in Wales.

 

 

Voting

Voting for all wards is held at the Genesee Town Hall.  Registration can be done at the polling place or anytime in the Genesee Town Office.  Proof of residency must be provided to register.

For all building, remodeling, & construction projects contact the Town of Genesee-Building Inspector.  Refer to Building Permit Information

House Numbers

House numbers are to be placed where they can be SEEN FROM THE ROAD, so emergency personnel can see the numbers easily.  Numbers and holders can be obtained free of charge at the Genesee Town Hall.

Any person planning to excavate should contact Digger’s Hotline 72 hours before digging and the location of underground cables in the area will be provided free of charge.

 

 

Burning Permits

Open burning requires a burning permit.  Permits must be obtained through the Town Office, as a signature is required (must be at least 18 years old). Permits are written for a 2 week increment. Call (262) 968-3656 for more information.

 

Burning is allowed in burning barrels without a permit.  Barrels should have a screened cover.

 

 

Dog Licenses

*License year begins January 1.

*All dogs 5 months or older must be licensed by March 31 of each year to avoid a $5.00 late penalty. 

*Evidence that the dog is currently immunized against rabies must be presented before a license can be issued. 

*Applications are available at the Town of Genesee, Town Hall.

*Dog License Fees:

            Neutered Male: $10.00                      Unneutered Male:  $15.00

            Spayed Female: 10.00                       Unsprayed Female:  $15.00

*Pick up includes recyclables and regular trash.  John’s will not pick up yard waste, hazardous, toxic or infectious waste, construction or demolition material, which can be brought to a drop off site.  Large appliances should be placed with recyclables.
